Kippax Ash Tree Primary School.
Kippax Ash Tree school is much larger than the average-sized primary school based in Leeds. The proportion of pupils known to be eligible for free school meals is a little above average. Most pupils are White British. The proportion of pupils supported by school action plus or with a statement of special educational needs is above average. The school meets the current floor standards which set the government’s minimum expectations for attainment and progress.
Kippax Ash Tree was a ‘good’ school but wanted to intensively focus on writing and consider new ways to raise standards. Jane Considine started working in the school 2012/13 and introduced the FANTASTICs, a sharpened emphasis on grammar and maps for writing for narrative and non-fiction.
“After working with Kippax Ash Tree closely on remodelling their curriculum and sharpening their strategies to shape up English it is wonderful to see the impact of that work in their Key Stage 2 results. Congratulations Kippax Ash Tree!”
